On 11/26/2012, a contract was signed for a project for environmental impact assessment (EIA) of the investment proposal for the construction of new nuclear capacity at the site of the Bulgarian N-plant. Dicon-ACCIONA Ingeniería Consortium won the tender for the implementation of EIA and was selected from total of seven candidates. The event took place in the presence of Valentin Nikolov - CEO of the Kozloduy NPP, Lyuben Marinov, Executive Director of the Kozloduy NPP New Capacities project company and Verjinia Dimitrova - CEO of DICON.
The contract duration is between nine and twelve months.
Verjinia Dimitrova, authorized representative of the Bulgarian-Spanish consortium, explained that the project will involve over 40 specialists, including international ones. Sixteen of them are Key Experts responsible for different parts of the EIA - Water, Soil, Biodiversity, Geology, Radiation Protection, Seismotectonics, Safety & Emergency, etc.
