On 16 and 17 March 2016 in the city of Warsaw, Poland, the 31st working meeting of the WG ECOSTAT was held. The Technical Report for the intercalibration of the Eastcontinental GIG for lakes, BQE Phytoplankton, was presented at the meeting. Three EU member-states participate in the group – Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria, with Bulgaria represented by the Dicon-UBA Consortium. The ECOSTAT working group took a positive decision on the successful completion of the intercalibration of the Eastcontinental GIG for lakes, BQE Phytoplankton. The intercalibration is valid for the Hungarian method, accepted by all three countries, meaning that it will be used in the assessment of the ecological status of Lake Srebarna for BQE Phytoplankton.
