In the period 16 to 29 August 2015, the second International Expedition for studying the Danube river was carried out with the participation of Bulgarian and Austrian experts in the project for “Intercalibration of the Methods for Analysis of the Biological Quality Elements (BQE) for the types of surface waters on the territory of Bulgaria, corresponding to common European types in the Geographical intercalibration groups”. The international experts continued their research and collected data for the biological quality elements in macrozoobenthos, phytobenthos, macrophytes, phytoplankton and fish, as well as physicochemical and hydromorphological information in selected sites. This information is needed in relation to the implementation of the project activities and the submission of data and information on the individual BQE to the XGIG Large rivers.
