
An International Expedition for studying the Danube river was carried out between 1 September and 9 September 2014, with the participation of Bulgarian and Austrian experts in the project for “Intercalibration of the Methods for Analysis of the Biological Quality Elements (BQE) for the types of surface waters on the territory of Bulgaria, corresponding to common European types in the Geographical intercalibration groups”. The purpose of the expedition was to carry out research and collect data for BQE macrozoobenthos, phytobenthos, macrophytes, phytoplankton and fish, as well as to collect physicochemical and hydromorphological information in selected sites.
